Issue 2: Fit the Job to the Team
Happy New Year of 2026!
For December 2025, this issue we have relatively less content as we are exploring plan for offline meetups and searching our way to make this more scalable:
- We have been working on a contributor portal for people to understand our standard and submit articles
- We are going to do meetups quarterly. Feel free to mutate our idea or add your comments here: [ Google doc ]
- We want to make sure that if one person learns a lesson, the whole world learns it too.
- We plan to organize meetups to turn 'I don't know' into 'We can find out together' and ensure that finding also recorded here.
- We are also looking for an experienced editor. Although we have no budget at all.
This month we had 3 cases, 2 story and 1 analysis added to the knowledge base. 4+ articles under review.

Social media is great for mobilizing people with simple action that can easily replicate. This is also the limitation of this approach, only simple action works not complex thinking.
Hack the Divide
How virtual hackathon happened in Toronto.
The team succeeded because they combined existing resources smartly. They had advantages most grassroots may not have access to. But their roadmap and underestimated factors can be lessons for others.
Civic Tech Toronto Archive
The art of being small.
One step at a time, keep making progress through the balance between work and break. One person and an Obsidian editor compiled information into GitHub pages using static web template. This project is done.
