Abstract: After months or years building and maintaining a community platform. It is possible that things change, ending or transitioning it is often more responsible than forcing continuation. A planned transition to new leadership can serve the community better than exhausted volunteers barely keeping things running. This article challenges the stigma of failure associated with closure, providing guidance on making wise, strategic decisions to gracefully end or transition platforms, thereby preserving value and respecting the community involved.
